The primary role of the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, as stated in our charter, is research to improve wildlife and fisheries management and habitat and conservation techniques. In keeping with this goal, the Foundation currently has many research studies focused on wildlife and fisheries management, biodiversity and natural resource conservation, and landscape and ecosystem ecology. Current topics include population dynamics, nesting ecology and productivity, predator/prey interactions, survival, behavior, feeding ecology, and aquaculture.

Additional long-term research at the Foundation includes work on improving hatching and rearing techniques for game birds and fish, and experimentation with and demonstration of habitat management for wildlife and biodiversity.

Much of the Foundation’s research efforts are conducted in cooperation with universities and public and private agencies and with financial support from agencies, corporations, and other foundations. Cooperative student training projects include an undergraduate intern and a graduate student program.
